How to become an IIT Engineer ?

 We all know that, IIT is The dream of every engineering aspirant. Everyone wants admission in IIT. But do you know, How to become an IIT Engineer in India ? Let us know about IIT JEE in this article. Even if you don't know What is IIT ?, then also no need to worry. I have explained that also in the article.

Many people have confusion that IIT and JEE are the same . But Is JEE and IIT the same ?? You will get the answer of this question in this post.

How to become IIT Engineer ?

  • What is IIT ?

 IIT ( Indian Institute of Technology) is the dream college of every engineering aspirant in India .The IIT is an institute of national importance by act of parliament of India .IITs are basically institutes established by the Government to develop Good quality engineers and researchers in India. These government colleges in India are funded by the central government of India .There are 23 IIT colleges in India for B.Tech , M.Tech and some other courses like B.sc and M.sc masters and dual degree courses and MBA in some IIT's  which are 2 year, 3 years, 4 year or 5 year courses .
Some famous IITs are IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur. These are basically Top 7 IITs .

  •   What is IIT-JEE ? 

IIT-JEE stands Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Exam. In the old days IITs used to conduct only one exam for admission into IITs. But nowadays , The whole exam pattern has changed. Now JEE Advanced is considered to be the main exam for admission in IITs .               
Before that you have to clear JEE Mains which is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) in the month of January and April twice a year . And your best of 2 scores will be considered for admission in NITs or IITs and GIFTs  and also in some state level government and private colleges .
Every year nearly 10 lac students appear for the JEE Mains exam. Out of which only 2.5 lac students are selected to appear for JEE Advanced including all reservations. JEE Advanced is a computer based exam like JEE Mains exam.

  •   Is JEE Mains enough for IIT ?

Definitely not. Many students have doubts regarding this like Can I get admission in IIT if I score high in JEE mains ? But I would like to clear here that there is no connection of your JEE mains score and admission in IITs. It is only useful for being eligible for JEE Advanced. If you clear the cutoff you will be eligible to apply  for JEE Advanced.

  • How to become an IIT'ian ? ( how to get into IIT ? )

 If you also wanna be an IIT'ian ,Then you will have to crack  JEE Advanced exam .You will have to clear the cutoff of JEE advanced exam according to your category .Then you will have to register for admission at JOSSA ( Joint Seat allocation authority ) portal .Then Seat will be allotted to you according to your rank in JEE Advanced .
JEE Advanced is the only gateway of IIT for undergraduate courses .Which is conducted by IITs every year for nearly 11000 seats all over India .JEE Advanced is considered to be one of the toughest exams of India .

  •  Is there any other way to get into IIT other than JEE Advanced ?

Yes , It is possible to get into IIT other than JEE Advanced but it is for Post graduation courses not for undergraduate courses. If you are already a graduate from engineering then GATE is also the gateway of IIT for MTech .
